Blenheim Ginger Ale: Family-Owned and Continuously Operated Since 1903

I remember my first encounter with Blenheim Ginger Ale in the 1990s. I was shocked by the strength, heat, richness and purity. There is simply no better ginger ale or ginger beer on the market. It's a textural wonder. It's a smooth and rich soda with just the right amount of sweetness. The hard carbonation and heat of the ginger provide a great counterpoint. Don't put your nose in the glass and breath in. It will hurt!

This is the only ginger ale we use in our cocktails at Stage Left Steak and Catherine Lombardi. The intense ginger punches through and that hard carbonation stays bubbly. Also, Blenheims is made with sugar not corn syrup. When you are making cocktails, that makes all the difference in the world.

While these are lovely by themselves, try a real Rye and Ginger or Bourbon and Ginger with Blenheim: A revelation!

Blenheim Bottlers Description

Blenheim Ginger Ale Company; the earliest, smallest and many say finest, independent soda bottling company in the United States of America. Located on the grounds of the massive South of the Border Tourist Attraction in Hamer, South Carolina, the company retains the same small town, family-style production as when Good Ole' Blenheim Ginger Ale began being bottled in 1903.

In the later part of the 1800’s, Dr. C. R. May counseled his patients with stomach troubles to drink in the water from the mineral springs. When his patients complained about the noticeable iron-like taste of the mineral water, Dr. May supplemented it with Jamaican Ginger to help make its flavor more appealing. In 1903, Dr. May and A. J. Matheson started the Blenheim Bottling Company next to the Blenheim Artesian Mineral Springs and began making Original Extra Pale. The structure which housed the original bottling plant was constructed in 1920.
