French wine Law says that Bourgogne Blanc can be made from chardonnay grapes grown anywhere in Burgundy. This wine comes from a single plot of young vines in Chassagne Montrachet. One of the unwritten rules of wine, 'The more site specific the grapes, the better the wine.' When these vines grow up (get older), they will produce fruit that will be used to make Chassagne-Montrachet.
