Gentry is a one-off bottling from Howell Mountain that was purchased for a new project made by Thomas Rivers Brown (winemaker of #1 Wine Spectator Top 10 of 2022, Double Diamond!). The owners decided to re-plant the vineyard after the 2019 harvest and delay the launch of their new label until early 2024. The name of the new label is not Gentry, this was a name selected just for this one-time bottling. Only 280 cases were made" TRB has more 100 pt scores that any other winemaker workimg in Calif. today. "This vibrant wine shows the power and restraint of Howell Mountain. First, a powerful bouquet of rose petals, African violets and lavender greet your nose. Next, wanting to show its true colors you will find balanced fruit attributes of Bing cherries, plums and cranberries on the palate. A mountain wine at heart, graphite and iron are also ever-present. In an effort to show its youthfulness, this medium bodied wine with lively acidity and inviting freshness finishes with energetic yet refined tannins."
